Working Principle
Under normal operating conditions, the SPD maintains a high-impedance state that doesn't affect system performance. When transient voltages occur, the SPD transitions to a low-impedance state, diverting surge currents to ground or back to the source. This clamping action limits voltage to safe levels. After the transient event passes, the SPD automatically resets to its high-impedance state.
Why Install Surge Protection?
Lightning strikes occur daily worldwide, posing risks to any structure in their path. Though lasting only microseconds, lightning generates dangerous voltage surges capable of destroying electronic equipment. Installing surge protection devices significantly reduces or prevents damage to valuable electrical systems and devices.
