BRRJ45 series signal surge protectors are ideal for computer networks including Ethernet, LAN, token ring systems, servers, routers, hubs, and broadband equipment. These devices protect RJ45 interfaces from damage caused by ground potential increases or line-induced overvoltage conditions.
Dual Protection Modes
Line-to-Line protection safeguards against short circuits between different network nodes, while Line-to-Ground protection prevents short circuits between network nodes and earth ground. This dual-mode approach ensures comprehensive protection regardless of where transients occur.
The nominal discharge current of 5kA represents the peak current capacity with an 8/20μs waveform, allowing the RJ45 lightning arrestor to remain functional after 15 surge events. When voltage exceeds design ratings, the surge protector begins clamping and directs energy to the electrical grounding system.
